Real Bride: Elle & George
#kindlingbrides
Back in May, the beautiful Elle and George married in a very sunny and green Dunham Massey wedding! Elle wore the Moreno Gown with the botanical lace Fjord skirt, teamed with the most perfect red lip and her trademark natural, curly mermaid-worthy hair! Elle looked an absolute dream and it was such a joy to get to know her and her wonderful MOH Róisín throughout her dress journey.
I loved hearing about all of her wedding plans at each appointment, but the photos always seem to surpass my expectations, as their wedding looked utterly joyful and i was a massive fan of the really natural, DIY and lots of personal touches to their day. Her bridesmaids looked wonderful in their shades of green, and don’t her Doc Martin platform sandals look so cool with her look?!
I asked Elle to answer a few questions which other brides might hopefully find helpful in their own wedding-planning journey:
WHEN/WHERE DID YOU GET ENGAGED?
George and I got engaged in a slightly unconventional way, as I was in quarantine at home at the time! George had been planning to propose over the Christmas holidays while on a walk in the Moors, but life had other ideas as the ring got delayed in the post and I got COVID. So instead he proposed as soon as the ring arrived, which was just after new year while we were having coffee in the living room and it was perfect.
WHAT DID YOU MOST + LEAST ENJOY ABOUT PLANNING YOUR WEDDING?
The thing I enjoyed most about the wedding was discussing/arguing about all the silly little things in a wedding with George, like what the cake topper was going to be. We didn't even have one in the end!
The thing I least enjoyed was probably creating the guest list as I wanted to invite the whole village.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
My favourite part of the wedding day was walking around with George and taking a moment to step back from it all and just drink it in.
HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR DRESS, AND HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS 'THE ONE'?
I found my dress by trying on almost every possible combination of things Kindling Bridal has to offer! It was so difficult to choose the perfect dress for me, but I knew I had the right one when I saw the look on my maid of honour's face in the mirror. That's when I knew I looked as beautiful as I felt!
LEAST FAVOURITE PART ABOUT WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING?
The part I least enjoyed about dress shopping was that I had to stop! I am usually not one for shopping but I loved all of the dresses I tried so much - it was so hard to choose.
ANY TIPS FOR CURRENT BRIDES TO BE?
My tip for any future brides is to not stress, as counterintuitive as it is, because half the things you stress about you won't even notice on the day. Don't sweat the small stuff!
Wishing both Elle and George a world of happiness and love, and the biggest congratulations!
Much love,
Kerri xx
